Best tablets and phones for the Monitor app

Post by RubikCube »

A lot of GivEnergy owners will likely soon be looking for an android device to run this app.

I test the app on three devices that I own
  • Huawei T5 Mediapad (purchased from Argos Jan 2020)
  • Google Pixel 6a phone (purchased from Argos March 2023)
  • Teclast P30 tablet (purchased from Amazon April 2025)
All these are no longer current models.
What are you running this app on, and how well is it working?

Lenovo TabM10 with HA-200 dock

Post by daveyge »

Hi All.
I have been using a Lenovo tablet which sits neatly on a dock with mains adapter for just over a year now and it works well for me. The tablet automatically limits the charge on it's battery to avoid overcharging. The dock includes a speaker and has Alexa built in so has other uses and is very cheap. Both were bought from CEX and came with a 5 Year guarantee (check T's & C's)... as long as they stay in business ;)

Lenovo Tab M10 FHD Plus (TB-X606F) (4GB+64GB) 10" - from £55 now depending on condition and spec

Lenovo HA-200 Smart Dock - £4

Hope this helps someone

I've had the app for quite a while now and use it on a Samsung TabS S9+ and a Tab S3. Both work well.

I bought this tablet https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0F5389J9J? ... asin_title
It was a random find by Rubikcube on Amazon but since I know nothing of android devices was wasn’t able to chose from the huge selection from broken upwards available for sale there.
Looking good so far, but clearly overkill for just this task. If I trip over a used large screen phone from an android world friend I might move it over. But not just yet!

I have the app running on an old Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 which had been resigned to the may come in handy drawer. It's running on Android 12.

I use a Lenovo P11 (TB350FU) which works great with the app. I even use the app to tell me when my WiFi starts going on the fritz

I use a Moto E LTE from 2015 with a LinageOS version of Android 10 - all good! Also tried it on Lenovo M10 tablet but there was then some confusion between scheduling when running 2 installations of the app in the same household
