It's great that people are talking about and recommending the app. This graph of downloads from google is telling of the way people panic.
Peaks not surprising around 31st March and 8th April, then back to business as usual.
In March around 600 had the app installed, today it's around 1300.

Version 4.7 has entered final testing and should be out this week. The key changes are:
  • Battery data validation to avoid showing zero temperatures or cell voltages due to data errors.
  • Battery serial number validation to avoid phantom batteries being created.
  • Quicker disconnection when connection lost.
  • On compatible networks, automatic IP address detection.
  • Battery info, pause mode (if available) displayed even when zero (not paused).
  • Premium recover tab checks system type so settings can only be recovered to same type of inverter.
  • Premium recover tab new overwrite backup option.
  • Premium controls, time setting clock supports 24 hour mode.
The app still works on Android version 5 and later. This is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain, and soon it may need Android 7 as the minimum supported version. Is anyone still using Android 5 or 6?

My Galaxy Tab S is Android 6 and gives nice large graphs, but Moto G4 phone used for control is Android 7.

Unfortunately there is a bug in the code that controls the connection / disconnection/ reconnection with the inverter. This bug can cause the app to crash, so I have to put out a bug fix ASAP. Release 4.7.1 with a fix will be available in the next few days.

As it seems some people still use android 5 and 6, I will keep supporting them as long as possible.

Still a bug in 4.7.1, sorry. Version 4.7.2 will be out in a few days with a fix.

Still trying to nail down whatever is causing version 4.7 to crash for some people.
Versions 4.7.1 and 4.7.2 and 4.7.3 have not fixed the problem.
Version 4.7.4 which puts the code back to how it was in version 4.6 will be out soon.

Version 4.7.5 will be available in the next few days.
This version is a simple rebuild using all the latest libraries, which I hope will fix the crashing problem.
It requires Android 7 or above, so android 5 and 6 users will remain on 4.7.4 from now on.
The (installed) size of the app has increased massively (from 7MB to 72MB), but it is still small compared to many commonly used apps.

Version 4.7.6 fixed a new permission issue with Android 17.
Version 4.7.7 will be out soon fixing more bugs:

Rewrite of inverter code to try to fix intermittent crash.
Fix 24 hour clock not working on amending schedule entries.
Fix controls not refreshing correctly after changes.
Improve validation on numeric settings.

A bug has been found in the rewritten inverter code in 4.7.7 so a fixed version 4.7.8 will be released shortly.
