In 2014 the SM-T320 was a really good spec tablet. It is powerful enough to have been upgraded to Android 5 and probably all the way to Android 8 at least, but Samsung chose not to. Tablet cannot be upgraded from 4.4 and my app (like most apps now) needs at least Android 5.

I'm using an old Fire Tablet which is too old to run the GivEnergy app. It works well, including the Charge/Discharge schedule part.

I used a Moto G5S bought 2020 and because I was using it to control I had it plugged in to a charger (not high power) all the time. A few months ago the battery enlarged and pushed the screen up ! It still worked but I have put it outside now. I am in the process of making a repeating timer to control power to another older phone. I will try 1 hour on, 4 hours off. My newest phone with Android 15 has a setting to limit battery charge to 80% so perhaps that would be wise to have for tablets as well.
